Retro/digital/old school art group 72 Pins has taken new games back to 1985– new PS/XBox/Wii games have been given old school, NES makeovers. Not the games themselves, just the cartridges. Among those getting the 8-bit treatment: Shadow of the Colossus, God of War, Halo, BioShock, Castle Crashers, PaRappa the Rapper, and Super Meat Boy.
Even if it doesn’t seem like that big a deal, many of the more popular new versions are sure or have already sold out. Keep Reading

Think back to the last day that you felt on top of the world? Was it sunny and warm outside?
It’s no secret that nice weather usually puts us in a better mood, especially those of us that live in cold, dreary, or just “boring places” when it comes to the weather.
But could climate and weather patterns shape soicetal crises and determine if a certain species succeeds or dies off? Scientists at the Museum of American Natural History are exploring just that, and their conclusions may surprise you. Keep Reading

Despite the fact that the United States economy is in the toilet, environmental geeks and car enthusiasts alike flocked over the weekend to see what it’d be like to fit 7 buddies into a $50,000 sports car that goes 0-60 in less than five seconds.
This past weekend, Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk (a regal name if there ever was one) premiered the Model S , the latest in a long line of bad motherf*cking cars that can seat several branches of your family tree, and proving once again the auto industry is capable of producing an environmentally game-changing, if uber-expensive automobile. This game is highly addicting, and even better, free for the day. In the “Keeping it Real” category, “Cardinal Quest” sits front and center. It’s an arcade-style dungeon-crawler inspired by classics like Gauntlet, Red-Box D&D and Golden Axe. If you aren’t familiar with any of those games, than chances are Cardinal Quest probably isn’t for you.
“Choose your champion and begin your quest to slay the Evil Minotaur.”
You can play using three distinct characters, each providing their own experience: Keep Reading

Japan’s Tech Arts 3D prides themselves solely on making erotic video games, and why shouldn’t they. Sooner or later, it had to happen that they’d have some serious competition.
But after their last game which combined the art of interior decorating with customizing your own Japanese schoolgirl, Tech Arts decided to take it another step further.
They were, after all, behind the SOM, a jerk-off machine to put on your penis that responded to commands spoken through a headset. This November, TA will give you 3D Custom Girl Keep Reading

Make of it what you will, but Vodafone Germany has prematurely added ordering options to their website related to the iPhone 4S and an 8GB iPhone 4.
Of course there is no way of knowing whether or not these just are placeholders in preparation for tomorrow’s unveiling. Interestingly, Vodafone lists the iPhone 4S in 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB variants, confirming previous reports. The site also lists all three models in both black and white.

And this man thought he was going to waltz into a jewelry store just because he was packing heat and wearing a mask. Little did he know there was going to be some unforseen resistance, in the shape of a 12 year old boy.
The armed criminal broke into a jewelry shop in Istanbul’s Bagcilar district, an incident recorded on security camera below. The masked man entered the shop, pulled out his gun and told the salesman to fill his bag. Unfortunately, for him, he ran into a problem he didn’t expect.
The 12 year old boy, who was next to the man and had the gun pointed in his direction, decided to put the kibosh to the activity and fought back against the man. The criminal tried to free himself from the child and ran away. After studying the tape, the police arrested Mustafa S. who lived near the shop. Keep Reading

Looks like Inaba, Teddie, Rise, Yosuke, Naoto, and the rest of the gang are officially headed to U.S. shores, much to the delight of its legions of dedicated, worshiping fans.
Sentai Filmworks has licensed the anime for an official North American release, though specific dates aren’t known as of yet. In a plot that sounds vaguely familiar Persona 4 tells the story of Japanese high school students who get caught up in a world of murder, David Lynch-like plot formulas, and inter-dimensional travel between television and reality. Eventually dimensions square off against one another in a big showdown involving gas station attendants, vicious killers, Japanese Gods and Goddesses and angry shadow creatures Keep Reading

While as of yet it only sells Chromebooks and a few accessories, Google has officially opened up their first retail store in London today. Located inside PC World on Tottenham Court Road, the space is actually more of a store within a store and at only 285 square, it’s far from the latest grandiose Apple Store opening. Still, as a Google spokesperson notes, this marks Google’s “first foray into physical retail” and if successful could lead to a more aggressive brick and mortar retail approach.
“It is our first foray into physical retail. This is a new channel for us and it’s still very, very early days. It’s something Google is going to play with and see where it leads.”- Arvind Desikan, Google UK head of consumer marketing
