Batman is clearly everywhere…in your Xbox/PS3, on the playground…even Occupy Wall Street.
Just be thankful you aren’t Commisioner Gordon (coming back from the dead can be messy enough as it is). Keep Reading

While most would say that it’s the Star Wars prequels that need serious help, recent evidence seems to point to George Lucas devoting the majority of his time to tinkering with and altering the original 3 1980s films. We’ve expressed how this makes us feel. Perhaps, it’s some stroke of masochism that causes Star Wars fanboys to obsess over the films?
Normal, somewhat balanced and well-adjusted people don’t have this trouble so much, but let’s face it, that’s “somewhat balanced and well-adjusted” is a relative term. Helpful ideas from out-of-touch n00bs like these include: Keep Reading

Admit it: you love the constant stream of Skyrim-related news we keep shoving down your throat. All right, you’re over it, as your puke-covered controller evidences.
But swallow one last tidbit of ES-related goodness (at least for today): the beautiful world of The Escapist’s ‘Zero PUNCTUATION‘, a rapid fire-assault on grammar from a Brit named “Yahtzee” who spits out clever witticisms faster than a Kalishnikov rifle.
All this comes courtesy of Ben Croshaw, who cuts apart pop culture phenom like video games with the expertise of a skilled surgeon. On the dissection table this week is the latest in The Elder Scrolls series, a game he evidently picked up just so “no one can yell at me for not playing a f*cking multiplayer for once.” With an animation style somewhat reminiscent of Monty Python, the visuals are a perfect compliment to Croshaw’s 650 WPM delivery. Most us have resorted to any number of emulators running on Android and (usually jailbroken) iPhones to get our retro Nintendo fix on the go.
For those with massive collections of original SNES cartridges, Hyperkin’s handheld console is finally ready for primetime, allowing you to play classic SNES titles on a faithful Nintendo-like controller equipped with a 3.5-inch display.
Supporting most original 16-bit SNES and Super Famicom cartridges, its slightly larger and chunkier than a PSP ( its 8.5 x 4 x 1.5 inches), allowing you to pop a cartridge right in the top. It also doubles as a home console, if your SNES console happens to die, by letting you plug in two full-size SNES controllers and use video out to hook up to your TV. Keep Reading

Kevin ‘K.O.’ Olusola already had one thing going for himself as a talented cellist, but it’s his beat-boxing skills which add to the awesomeness of his style.
A few months ago, K.O. made this video with a really hot (and talented) singer, Antoinette Costa. It produced some pretty cool results in an R&B-flavored ditty that got a whole bunch of attention (especially CBS, who posted the video on their news portal). A mere few months later, K.O. was on NBC’s “Sing-Off” and the word soon got out as the YouTube hits piled up like mad. Keep Reading

I counted five iOS games in this video, but that was admittedly after a thorough google search and texting my sister, who would have responded sooner if she wasn’t currently playing half of the games featured in the video.
Some of these games as you may well know have already made their way to console ports, helping to lead the surge for consoles quality games to make their way to social networks.
The Aussie group “Hey Geronimo” from down under, offers quite the tribute….good luck getting this song out of your head. Keep Reading

We all know about Apple’s brick-and-mortar retail dominance in the tech world. Even Microsoft hasn’t been able to capture the mind’s and wallets of consumers in the real world with several failed attempts to mimic Apple‘s award winning retail experience. Not surprisingly. Google is also interested in retail with their first “Chromezone” retail store recently opening in London, and now the world’s first Androidland retail shop has just opened its doors in Australia. While it might not be a big deal to some of our readers abroad, there is still a lack of NFC-enabled vending machines across the US. Maybe because most people try to avoid using credit cards for low cost items to avoid transaction fees.
Nevertheless, Google is continuing a major rollout of their MasterCard-backed Google Wallet mobile payment solution (which lets you pay with a wave of your phone), this time adding roughly 6,000 vending machines in the mid-Atlantic, Chicago, and San Francisco. Keep Reading

Are you frustrated with the thousands of Farmville clones trying to pass themselves off as video games…on platforms like Facebook, Android, and iOS?
What about their micro-transaction models that create a “spend-to-progress” sense of urgency rather than focusing on engaging gameplay?
NYT points us to former EA and Activision execs who have formed startup Rumble Entertainment to develop and publish hardcore games specifically aimed at the platforms where social, casual gaming companies like Zynga dominate. Keep Reading

So what happens when a couple of guys playing Battlefield 3 set off 1000 mines, one right after the other, just to mess with the enemy? As the video below proves, a very big f*cking explosion.
Courtesy of gamer Dark Liberator and editor Mongol, a couple of guys actually took the time to set up a bunch of mines so they could launch an ATV about 100 yards up into the sky.
The video is pretty straightforward — just stuff gettin’ blowed up real good. Still it’s almost as fun to hear the players’ reactions speaking through their headsets. Keep Reading

So fellas if you’re not dating a gaming girl already, here are a few reasons to maybe make sure your next girlfriend is a gamer:
According to a recent GameHouse infographic/survey, girl gamers are a lot more happy, social, and sexually/physically active than non-gaming girls.
The infographic, which was originally published in Venturebeat, also shows that most use online gaming as a way to relieve stress, while others to connect with friends and socially interact. Keep Reading

Siri has quickly become the tech industry’s go-to running joke, despite the technology setting a new standard for the way we control our devices.
It’s not that much of a shock that the media and tech geeks alike have been so enamoured of Siri concepts, parodies, and… sniper rifles?
However, techies aren’t the only ones poking fun at Siri’s capabilities (and lack thereof), with comedians Robin Williams and Stephen Colbert both giving their hilarious first impressions of the voice-controlled personal assistant… Keep Reading

Apparently nothing is sacred anymore…
As Screen Rant recently revealed, Hollywood is remaking Brian DePalma’s 1983 Al Pacino gangster epic — well, some would even call it a landmark, a tour-de-force, the standard by which all others should be judged.
You probably knew it was only a matter of time. So before you panic, here’s 3 ways that could make it not only a solid remake — but like the first two, stand alone on their own.
Give us a damn good script. That’s a pretty obvious one, and things are already looking good with Training Day scribe David Ayer behind it all. Among the many crime drama pictures to emerge over the last decade or so, the 2001 Antoine Fuqua film is definitely one of them. Keep Reading

We knew it would only be so long before rumors began of an Apple Branded HDTV and today longtime Apple analyst Gene Munster certainly didn’t disappoint. via Business Insider” target=”_blank”>Talking at the IGNITION: Future of Media Event, Munster made some claims of what we can expect from Apple’s upcoming living-room take over.
In case you need a refresher, we’ve already heard a bunch of rumors that Apple is working on an HDTV set, most of which seem to stem from Steve Jobs’ comments to author Walter Isaacson that he had “finally cracked” the TV before his passing.
After urging audience members to hold off Keep Reading

Ever wonder how video-game Mario would navigate the bathtub in your house, or the laundry basket? A slippery staircase? Neither did we, but auteur animators Marcus and Hannes Knutsson have animated a 16-bit Mario caught in the perils of household items.
All the usual suspects (The goombas, the Koopatroopers) are there, and like Mario, made entirely from beads. But it’s nice touches, like how the Knutssons went to extensive lengths to place the piranha plants in actual real-life plant pots, flames come out of stovetop cookers, and have Mario get distracted with a 3DS game starring himself that make it kind of awesome. It’s by far one of the most graphic PSA’s you’ll ever see…and if you were to ask the group that put it together that’s precisely the point.
The video comes from the Florida Department of Transportation, and shows actual footage of people getting hit, run over, and flipped by cars.
The campaign, dubbed See The Blindspots, wants to get your attention so that you start paying attention to the road. Keep Reading

When it comes to maps on our mobile devices, Google Maps has set the standard as the backbone of both native mapping apps on Android and Apple’s iOS. Goog has also done a lot to make sure they keep the top spot among competitors–For example, adding locations such as the interiors of museums and art galleries in Street View, and their efforts mapping parks and trails with their off road pedicab camera system.
Now, as Google begins to roll out the latest advancements to the app, indoor maps, Nokia is showing off a competitive solution that might give Goog a run for its money.
This week Google rolled out an update to the Google Maps Android app, bringing Keep Reading
