Jace Hall, Stan Lee, and Adrianne Curry appeared live today on What’s Trending. Each discussed their early influences and indoctrination into nerd-life, and how vast the world of nerd culture has become for any fans new to the scene.
When asked what it’s like working for Stan the Man, Adrianne gushes, while surprise, surprise, Jace thinks Stan is much nicer to Adrianne than he is to him.
Stan also unveiled plans for his next endeavor with his company POW! (Purveyors of Wisdom). POW will give rise of two new superheroes, one Indian, the other Chinese. Stan says that audience participation will very much be a part of the show and more details will be released in the coming months. Behind the scenes video of the cast and crew from the Live-Action film Rurouni Kenshin hit the web today, profiling director Keishi Ōtomo as he works with the cast and crew.
The video runs around 17 minutes, and features some excellent sneak peaks at the film’s action scenes. The film is the live action tribute to the enormously popular manga turned anime, which according to the Rurouni Kenshin wikipedia page, is slated to come out this Friday in Japan (and however else Anime fans decide to watch it).
Rurouni Kenshin was released as a manga in 1994, and began as an anime in 1996 Continue reading “Live-Action Rurouni Kenshin Previews Behind The Scenes Footage, Film Releases August 25th” »
The New York Times recently did a feature on Chris Hardwick (a.k.a. Nerdist) for his success representing the “nerd” brand.
The headline: “Being a Comic Nerd Is Right on the Money”
That may or may not be a good thing for nerd purists who claim “I was here first” or that “most of these guys aren’t really nerds,” but the message is that it’s not only cool to be a nerd, it gives you an edge and allows you to relate to an active demographic of engaged fans who for the longest time were treated as outcasts. It all started with a simple image of Jace Hall from a yet to be released episode of Season 5…what resulted were these photos ALL FROM FANS OF THE JACE HALL SHOW. If you haven’t liked our Facebook page yet, here is just a sample of what you are missing.
We have long felt we have the best fans of any show on the internet, and this may just well prove it. Special shout out to Richard Watts for his amazing and epic contributions!
Here’s what he said inspired him:
I wish there were more shows around which were made by people who genuinely love video games, TJHS kind of stands alone, at least from my perspective, which is a shame. I love to screw around with photoshop, and so when I saw the competition on facebook, it seemed like a great opportunity to make some stupid images.
Let us all know your favorite in the comments below and thank you again to EVERYONE who submitted for the Photoshop contest. You are all truly legendary. Continue reading “Photoshop Contest: Jace Hall Show Fans Give Jace A Trip Around The World” »
WE HAVE A FREE DOWNLOAD CODE FOR THE GAME! Just retweet this post and you automatically become eligible to enter!
We had the pleasure of scoring an early look at Retro/Grade, a rhythm game that plays and looks like a shooter yet sounds like a nerdcore concert at 50 watts. Retro/Grade is available for PSN users August 21, but here’s a sneak peak at what you should be getting excited about.
The stigma with most guitar/rhythm games is that they quickly begin to feel the same after only a number of plays or that they only provide a handful of lame songs. Retro/Grade avoids this problem by first building an extremely unique universe, one where you BEGIN THE GAME AT THE END and progress backwards to “accomplish” your mission.
Conceptually it’s the kind of idea that sounds neat (Memento, anyone?) but isn’t executed properly in most games (*cough* BF3). But the mechanics Continue reading “Exclusive Review: Turn Your Guitar Into a Third Person Shooter, Retro/Grade Wants You To Destroy The Universe” »
It used to be referring to yourself as a core gamer was a congenial term, one which told other gamers that you consistently played core games and were pretty damn good at them.
Today, core gamer now means you hate Nintendo or that you play Call of Duty or only Call of Duty (perhaps too much)…or that you have no interests outside of video gaming whatsoever. I
n essense, the very idea of being a “core gamer” has been used against us — it’s a commercial term for “guy that certain gaming companies should focus on and try selling $90 “gaming glasses’ too.”
It no longer means you play Silent Hill, FF, or prefer the PS3 to the Xbox, it means you spend an average of $75/month on gaming products and assume that since the Nintendo invented the Wii that it is now outside your video game canon and are Continue reading “Daily Rant: Why We HATE The Word “Core Gamer”” »
Dude your getting a Dell…and a 300 dollar fake warranty that doesn’t really exist.
That’s what happeend to Laptop Magazine, who made three calls to Dell customer service reps, based in India. The phone ops warned them not to let their laptop battery fall below 40% but not to fret, they were now the winners of a daily drawing to purchase a 4 year warranty for $317.
The kicker…there is no “daily drawing.”
DELL’s reaction: Continue reading “Daily Tech: DELL Customer Service Reps Caught Lying, Charging $300 For Fake Warranty” »
Stan Lee makes his epic return to The Jace Hall Show, except this time the comic book legend isn’t playing with fire and is cutting right to the chase with his paper shredder. Behind the scenes tidbit: Stan kept doing this even after we cut filming — apparently he only responds to one definition of “cut” when holding DC Comics.
NFL superstar and San Francisco 49er Pro Bowl Tight End Vernon Davis thought he was purchasing Jace’s T-Rex on last week’s episode of The Jace Hall Show, but ended up playing more Kaboom than he would have liked. “Imagination is more important than knowledge.” – Albert Einstein
It’s been a little over a week since space geeks enjoyed one of the most exciting and promising events since probably the WISE Explorer three years before it…
And it’s taken just as long for naysayers, skeptics, and all around cynical people to ask the proverbial question:
“Why are we paying 2.5 billion dollars for a robotic thing to send us back dirt stuff and take photos of a place that looks like Arizona…”
It’s a fair question, albeit a terribly unoriginal one that lacks Continue reading “Daily Rant: Mars Curiosity a $2.5 Billion Waste of Money? Compare It To This List And Decide Yourself” »

Another day another opportunity for news outlet to clamor video games are indeed wiping us into a mindless oblivion and/or causing us to bestow great pain and violence on our fellow man…
The culprit this time?
A 15 year old Ohio boy passed out and looked like “he was going to die” after playing COD: MW3 for four straight days over a (very) long weekend.
The boy’s mother said she Continue reading “DAILY RANT: Ohio Boy ‘Nearly Dies’ Playing XBOX For 4 Days, Who Is To Blame?” »
We told you about a rather inauspicious gaming marathon that happened this week in Ohio, where a 15 year old boy passed out over 4 days of playing Call of Duty.
But the gaming marathon from the guys over at “The Bro-Cast” is a tad different, not only are they planning to take water breaks, they are trying to raise money for charity with their gaming marathon “A Decade In Gaming.”
The marathon will take place over 120 hours and will feature the guys playing “Top 10 Games” from the last decade. Viewers can watch the stream live via the bro cast site and donate via chip-in. Continue reading “DAILY DEED: 6 Gamers Launch 5 Day Marathon To Raise Money For Good Cause” »
Seth Horvitz was just a regular guy jonesing for a new TV when he purchased one off Amazon, what he ended up with however was a Sig Sauer 716 patrol rifle that is illegal in most metropolitan cities.
Horvitz originally purchased a 39 Inch LCD monitor for around $320 through Amazon, but inexplicably received the $1600 rifle intended for Independence Gun Shop in Pennsylvania.
“When I saw some metal parts inside the box, I thought, ‘Maybe this is a TV stand or mount or something,” he told the magazine. “When I realized it was an assault rifle, it was pure shock and disbelief.”
Never question Jace’s ability to PWN. Legendary nerdcore rapper YT Cracker learned that the hard way when he challenged Jace to showcase his skills on stage.
The result? An awesome hip-hop gaming tribute that runs through gaming history, starting off of course with Bowser’s inability to pleasure Ms. Princess Peach of the mushroom kingdom. With “My Game Ain’t Done” Jace takes you on an awesome stroll down memory lane, revisiting the best characters and cartridges of Atari, Genesis, N64 and so on. You’ll see Jace’s game definitely ain’t done when you watch the vid.
Big shout out to Bossfights (who just finished and released their epic debut self-titled album), YT Cracker, and the crew.

Jace, the consummate gamer and nerdcore music aficionado, takes Vernon to task in an Atari video game challenge. Vernon, however, had other plans and thought he came down to Los Angeles to purchase Jace’s T-Rex automobile (see below). While Jace has other plans, Vernon makes Jace a $1,000,000 offer he and Jace Hall Show Producer/Director Todd Roy have to find very hard to refuse.
