If anything, this collection of the most important events from 1911-2011 show that, well, the 21st century is already looking pretty familiar. A spectacular collage of some of the most devastating wars, assassinations, famines, natural disasters, and radioactive catastrophes is enclosed — these are the most important events of the last 100 years.
DerDon1234′s impressive YouTube video manages to capture all of these moments “on their climax” – in other words, it’s perfectly designed for the ADHD-afflicted, relatively educational, and also relatively unsurprising to see that, apart from a few bright spots — the first black president, some crucial space travel discoveries/advancements — the rest is pretty unsettling.
As we wade into the next millennium, nothing’s really changed. I dunno — anyone else think he left a lot of the good stuff out? Not to sound sentimental, but maybe 2012 can be the start of something a little more enlightening and maybe we can all leave the paranoia and cynicism behind? Or maybe we’ll all get hit with a giant solar flare or fall off the face of the planet.
