The video below might very well be your first look of Samsung’s yet to be unveiled Nexus Prime (Galaxy Prime?) pure Google smartphone. The Ice Cream Sandwich powered smartphone would be one of the first to debut with the latest version of Android and was expected to be unveiled by Sammy and Goog at Mobile Unpacked on October 12th.
Unfortunately, that event, as of today, has now been postponed. The statement given by Samsung originally didn’t give a particular reason for the delay, but they’ve updated it to confirm speculation that it was out of respect for Steve Jobs:
“We believe this is not the right time to announce a new product as the world expresses tribute to Steve Jobs’s passing.”
For those of you that are unaware, the Nexus line of smartphones typically see Google and handset manufacturers working closely together for a flagship device, usually the first sporting the latest Android build. In this case, the Nexus Prime (recently rumored to be branded the Galaxy Prime) is expected to launch sometime around the same time as Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) in October/November.
While no one has confirmed anything about this new Nexus (whatever it ends up being called), the latest “trusted source” claims a 4.65-inch 1280 x 720 Super AMOLDED with curved glass (you can see the curved glass in Samsung’s teaser video), dual-core Cortex A9 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel main camera (only 5?), 1,750 mAh battery, and the other usual suspects.
We’ll keep you updated when a new venue and date for the unveiling is set.

Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
