Ever imagine the epic movie insult crew Mystery Science Theater 3000 making the move into the world of video games? On the surface it makes sense, given that video games are arguably just as if not more popular than a lot of movies anyways, and some can be just as bad.
The Mystery Science Theater 3000 crew, is taking the show to the IGN YouTube page, bringing the “droll talents” of making fun of movies to Gears of War 3.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 was basically a low-budget ode to Sci_Fi B- movies which consisted of little other than a bunch of guys (and robots) in a movie theater shouting rude things at the screen – most of which were pretty f*cking hilarious.
As with all great things, there was dissent in the ranks, and some of the creative minds behind MST3K disbanded and went off to form their own separate organizations. One was RiffTrax, which is basically MST3K without the silhouette of rowdy participants.
(So essentially, it’s just a bunch of voices yelling at the screen.) In saluting Gears of War 3, though, RT may very well have made a brilliant entrepreneurial move, as opposed to being whisked into the outer reaches of obscurity and remembered only by the few nostalgic for their irreverent and uber-sarcastic sense of humor. It can be pretty esoteric but is also funny as hell — check out this sample below.
If that isn’t enough, there are of course Two Best Friends playing video games, available on Machinima’s YouTube channel.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
