Last week rumours of a May 2012 reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 hit the internet when a retail promotional poster for the game surfaced. It has now been officially announced that we will be seeing the next iteration in the highly anticipated Activision shooter revealed during the NBA playoffs in early May.
At this time it is still unclear as to whether or not this new title will be in the Black Ops series or not. With last week’s rumoured poster and with the next entry in the Call of Duty franchise so widely speculated to be a sequel to the Treyarch developed Black Ops, that would seem most likely to be the case.
On top of that, the official Call of Duty site, although it doesn’t really give us very many details at all, does seem to carry the same aesthetic and feel as the Back Ops series. Other than the image you see above and a countdown clock pointing at May 1st, we don’t see much more than what appear to be placeholders marked “classified” and this single image (or lack there of) seen here.
What do you see?
Check back for more as the date gets closer we, will be following this story up as more information surfaces. Be sure to tune in to TNT and the NBA playoffs to catch what we are told will be the debut of the next Call of Duty game on May 1st.

Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
