It all starts out innocently enough: Christopher Cox, a US billionaire businessman with a taste for some really nice cars, was traveling on his way to Le Mans, France, over the weekend. Following him were Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and British construction company JCB CEO Sir Anthony Bamford, both in their own Ferraris, in one big-ass Ferrari parade, apparently.
Unfortunately, Cox’ car collided with the one in front of him, causing enough damage to downgrade the vehicle to ‘a write-off.’ Being that he was driving one of the most prized autos in the world — a 1962 Ferrari GTO — the wreck is now estimated as the most expensive one ever.
According to The Seattle Post-Intelligencer, turns out it’s been 50 years since the GTO rolled out (makes sense), and the parade was designed to celebrate the anniversary. Back in 1962, it sold for a mere 6,000 pounds and only 39 like it were ever made. Adding a bit of irony to it all is the fact that Cox bought it after its price had been lowered, due to another crash, back in the 70s. It was restored, and later Cox had it spray-painted yellow with blue racing stripes.

Well, I dunno. Why did the guy ever took it out of the garage to begin with? It’s like Cameron’s dad in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. “He never drives it. He just rubs it with a diaper.”
Anyways, here’s a video so you can watch the most expensive car ever BEFORE it was destroyed (its the blue and yellow beauty around the 41 sec mark).
A man with priorities so far out of whack doesn’t deserve such a fine automobile.

That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
