Maybe CBS picked up on the news that The Fass was giving Assassin’s Creed his acting (and some financial) backing and decided to go the same route. According to CBS Films has acquired the rights from Square Enix, working with producers Roy Lee (The Departed) and Adrian Askarieh (Hitman) to make Deus Ex: Human Evolution a big budget live-action.

Despite what seemed like a sinking ship in the form of 2003′s “Deus Ex: Invisible War,” the franchise rebounded last year when “Human Revolution” sold more than 2 million copies, according to The LA Times. Perhaps it’s not that surprising then that the film will supposedly be based largely around ‘Revolution’ and “a protagonist enhanced with mechanical “augmentations” who gets caught in a web of political intrigue in a world where corporations have become more powerful than governments.” It’s worth noting still that video game-based movie sank the genre so far that with the exception of the never-dead Resident Evil franchise, not a whole lot was happening in the video game-to-movie world.
In a press release, CBS Films Co-President said of the upcoming game-to-film translation, “No one knows Human Revolution like the team that created it and we look forward to working with them from day one to make a film adaptation worthy of the Deus Ex name.” While a lot of you have probably learned to steer clear of video game movies, it sounds we could at long last have an exception on our hands with this one. I won’t get my hopes up, but at least we know they’ll be sticking relatively close to the source material and working with the brains behind the game unlike most other VG-to-movie translations. It probably helps that there’s a little more of a story to go with this one…

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
