Portal 2′s Space Core will be making a trip into space, or at least a laser engraved image of it is (full image below). The Space Core image is engraved onto a Japanese resupply craft with a caption just below it reading, “In Spaaaaaaace!”.
According to the official Portal 2 blog (via Kotaku) an anonymous tech from Nasa got away with laser engraving the Space Core image on the Japanese HTV-3 resupply craft which will be on its way to the International Space Station. At this point it is unclear who is actually responsible for the engraving, all we know is that NASA has nothing to do with Portal 2 or an engraving there of. Could it have possibly been the work of a lone NASA tech?
Valve points out on the Portal 2 blog that the company had nothing to do with the engraving and that “NASA in no way officially endorses secretly laser-engraving characters from Portal onto their spacecraft.”
The blog posts continues by poking fun at the folks over at Nasa saying, “Believe it or not, they don’t even officially endorse Portal 2, despite the fact that it’s a really excellent game.”
Although the Portal 2 blog post refers to the image as being “Wheatley”, fans of the game across the internet say the image is likely not a depiction of him but rather of Portal 2′s Space Core instead.
The craft is set to launch this Friday, July 27, at 10:06 EST. Make sure you tune in beginning at 9:15 EST / 6:15 PST on Friday, you can watch it here on the NASA TV website.

Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
