I don’t know what prompted The Game Station to come up with the idea of crossing Legend of Zelda with Sergio Leone’s A Fistful of Dollars, but WHAT A GENIUS F*CKING MOVE, GAME STATION.
Filmmakers Nathan Kitada & Aaron T. Umetani (“The Brothers Mario”) will debut their Hyrule/badlands mash-up as a 3-part webseries, featuring Link in the Clint Eastwood/Man With No Name role, and none other than Lisa Foiles of Nickelodeon fame playing what looks to be the Zelda/Marisol part. And the guy playing Ganon will obviously be playing him as a member of the Rojos gang (or if you’d prefer, Biff Tannen from Back to the Future III). A Fistful of Rupees looks to tell a story very similar to the 1964 spaghetti western it was inspired by: Link comes to town looking for rupees, decides to play one squabbling gang against a good family in his quest for the Tri-Force of power, whilst deciding whether or not he can resist the charms of the the Princess (yes, we’re talking about Zelda, so I decided I’d use ‘whilst’) and at the same time put together an old-school tri-cornered map.
According to Variety, the series will debut on August 7, and is being produced by Maker Studios, a production company of sorts which pours cash into YouTube projects with big enough stars, and ideas, to generate clever and creative YouTube content — they’ll be working with Snoop Dogg Lion on his new webseries, and have already blessed us with the GTA-inspired “The Brothers Mario.” Anyways, it looks awesome, we hope we’ll get more cleavage/less bustles, and here’s the trailer:

Jeff Nau is a main contributor to the Jace Hall Show covering pop culture and music trends in the nerd community. He has contributed to San Diego City Beat, 944, and Ill Literature, amongst others, and spends his spare time working as an artist and photographer.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
