Today we have our first look at the multiplayer from the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (below). Uploaded to the Call of Duty Youtube page today, the trailer shows off of a number of new features that will be included in this November’s highly anticipated shooter from Treyarch.
Over the past week or so Treyarch game design director David Vonderhaar has been teasing us about the multiplayer trailer through his Twitter account. Finally Treyarch confirmed that the new trailer would be released today.
In the trailer much of what most of us expected is present on top of a number of surprises. The multiplayer seems to take place in the near future setting, most of the campaign is set in. So expect to see a lot of the futuristic tech Treyarch has shown off so far.

There are a number of interesting hints in the trailer, some of which include some interesting knife and tomahawk action. At the beginning of the trailer the player seems to throw out some sort of shock charged knife that incapacitates his opponents allowing him to get a couple easy kills. Later we see the player throw a futuristic looking tomahawk at his enemy.
The trailer features many new features that show the future setting like suicide drones, player controlled walking mini mech’s (AGR), player controlled flying attack drones, a microwave turret (that incapacitates enemies) as well as scopes that allow the player to see enemies through obstructions like walls and smoke.

Although it is unclear how indeed, if at all, it is implemented we do see quite a lot of third-person action going on. It is hard to tell if this is just for cinematic purposes or not.
At the end of the video we hear an announcer begin to call out the multiplayer match like a sports caster insinuating some sort of shoutcasting integration.

Craig Hunter is a main contributor for the Jace Hall Show and has been an avid gamer for over 15 years. He also freelances for a number of websites and magazines covering mobile products and emerging technologies.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
