For those of you who still remember MegaUpload founder Kim Dotcom’s fiasco (why is it every time I hear that name I stereotypically picture a cute computer hacker chick? Dammit) — which resulted in his multi-million dollar house being raided and, most recently, a judge calling into questions the constitutionality of certain methods of police inquiry and evidence acquisition.
Watching the video of the mogul’s mansion being raided, maybe it’s not all that difficult to understand why…
The footage, taken from the helicopter circling Dotcom’s estate, begins with a squad of commandos, semiautomatic weapons in tow, dropping down past the gates, some landing on the roof, a K-9 unit, and the windows being busted open. Funnily enough, a New Zealand SWAT guy admitted that they didn’t bother to wear tactical armor because Dotcom was “considered a low-risk target.”
According to Geekosystem, Dotcom has repeatedly said the raid was ‘uncalled for’, and by the looks of New Zealand’s News3 coverage (not to mention the judge’s treatment of the case), he may be more in the right than some previously thought. It even bares a resemblance to the closing scenes of Scarface, minus the chopper of course, and the fact Tony Montana didn’t have a pregnant wife and 3 children at home at the time.
In the meantime, Dotcom aka Kim Schmitz is back in court as his attorneys petition the judge to dismiss the case entirely.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
