With Gamescom kicking off in Germany tomorrow many are expecting at least a few interesting announcements. Half Life 3 and Dragon Age 3 have both been included in the Gamescom 2012 official site listings.
Although the show doesn’t start officially until tomorrow both Sony and EA have their respective press conferences slated for today. EA was scheduled for this morning at 10 am ET for its announcements with Sony making its appearance slightly later at 1pm ET. It is certainly believed that if indeed Dragon Age 3 were to be announced it would happen during EA’s press conference, it didn’t.
The Verge reached out to both Valve and EA this morning although no comments were made. Back in July The Verge asked Valve about Gamescom but got a response saying that there will be no “exciting” announcements in Germany. Just a couple hours ago, The Verge spoke with Valve’s Chet Faliszek who said there is “no truth” to the Half Life rumor, continuing by saying, “no idea why [Half-Life 3] would be listed.”
Gamescom organizers spoke with Eurogamer (via The Verge) today saying that the information about these new games is not accurate and was a “mistake”. The organizers are yet to clear up why the games appeared on the site in the first place. It is unclear at this point as to whether or not “mistake” means the games don’t actually exist or that they weren’t supposed to go public yet.
According to The Verge, a commenter recently points out that the translation of the title and description of said list was not understood properly. The commenter, ccook031, enlightens us on what the proper translation is, the title reads “expected announcements” and the description reads: “Please take note of the sources: exhibitors, media, internet forums, blogs. No responsibility is taken for the correctness of this information.”
Updates from The Verge on the EA press conference: ” EA’s press conference has wrapped up, with no sign of Dragon Age 3; certainly not a great sign of the original listing’s accuracy.”

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
