We now have reason to believe a new Star Wars game is coming to Xbox Live Arcade.
A leaked cover art image of a title called Star Wars: First Assault has now surfaced leading to speculation as to what this new game is all about (via GT).
At this point there are little to no details available on the title, the cover art was leaked by a graphic designer among a bunch of others cover designs for XBLA.
From the the cover art we can see a battle between Rebellion forces and Stormtroopers in what could be something similar to the Battlefront series. According to rumor the third, and what was once upcoming, Battlefront game was shelved.

There is no telling whether or not First Assault could be the remnants of the third iteration in the Battlefront series or whether it is something new and different entirely.
Previously spotted domain registrations by Fusible showed Lucas Film locking down .com’s just recently in August of this year. Highly speculated to be a new video game project, Lucas Film secured StarWarsFirstAssault.com.
On August 23, Lucas Film also filed trademarks for “First Assault” and “Star Wars: First Assault”. It has been pointed out that both the applications cover the same product which is described as:
“Entertainment services provided on-line by means of global and local area networks, namely, providing interactive computer games and interactive video games.”
LucasArts is yet to comment on the rumors and the leaked cover. Remaining a mystery at this point, it is entirely possible that the art shown is simply a placeholder for what will come. At the very least, we know LucasArts has a new game in the works that looks to be heading to Xbox Live Arcade as well hinting at it being some kind of online counter-strike type experience.

Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
