Despite the (to say the least) mixed reaction to their Wolverine anime (okay we’re pretty sure most people hated it), and the Bane anime (which many other people lambasted) Marvel has decided to go ahead with the release of their next Iron Man aime.
Brandon Auman, who last worked with Marvel on Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Iron Man Armored Adventures, will tackle the script for Iron Man: Rise of the Technovore. Says Marvel producer Megan Thomas Bradner:
“…We’ll get to see familiar Marvel Super Heroes such as War Machine, Nick Fury, Black Widow, Hawkeye and The Punisher, rendered in anime style for the first time. It’s a can’t miss for any Marvel fan.”
Via Geeks of Doom, the synopsis goes a little like this: Iron Man teams up against Ezekial Stane, who is developing a bigger and better Iron Man armor that can kick Stark’s ass. Stane then sets up a terrorist attack and pins the crime on Stark, who must figure out a way to clear his name.
Forget the misfires some said Wolverine was; if you happened to like Blade, again, you were clearly in the minority, and this should make up for it. Of course Marvel has to blow as much smoke as they can; at least the good news is that, unlike the look of Logan and Blade, the look of Iron Man is relatively hard to mess up. We hope.
The bad news is that if the pacing is anything like some of Wolverine’s first couple of episodes, we’re all doomed. That and if they decide to trade Tony Stark’s mustache and goatee for a a bald head and muttonchops, we’re probably doomed. The anime will be discussed at length at the New York Comic-Con this weekend if you happen to be in the area. Until its DVD release next Spring, we can only hope for the best.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.

That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
