Another gaming week has zoomed on by. Once again, I’ve sorted through the headlines, social media posts and endless blogs that bitch about any game that becomes popular in an effort to bring you the bullet points for the week.
Twin Galaxies sold to new owners
Perhaps best known as a focal point in the cult classic film The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters, longtime scorekeeping organization Twin Galaxies has been sold to new ownership. The previous owner, an alleged Florida businessman, had purchased it from founder Walter Day several years ago.
Days later the new owners announced that they would begin to prosecute anyone who continued to say the “There’s a killscreen coming up” line as if it was somehow still funny.
Achievement Unlocked: 10G – The movie is five years old. Quotes from it are now as relevant as “Show Me The Money” jokes. Move on.
Oklahoma has a pro sports team?
Last week it was noted that Peter Pan’s twin brother Justin Bieber was featured in NBA2K13 along with a killer offense rating. This week the game is noted again, this time for misspelling the name of Oklahoma City’s Thunder as the “Thudner” on the alternate uniforms.
Later reports confirmed that is how the word is spelled in Oklahoma.
Achievement Unlocked: 20G – I’m 30 minutes south of the Red River, and yet you’ll never find me to discuss that remark
A trailer for Just Dance 4 came out this week that features Justin Bieber lurking behind special mirrors, doors and in the shadows, watching young girls play the upcoming dance title in focus groups.
I’d normally make a joke about it here, but in this case it is not needed. The trailer is CREEPY, especially once you figure out which of the girls is Bieber.
Achievement Unlocked: 30G – Stay away from my gaming girlie-man
Angry Birds Star Wars
The first look at various Angry Birds and Star Wars product crossovers appeared over the past week in a strategic effort to overtake every Target endcap on earth.
Achievement Unlocked: 40G – Crossover finally makes the character of Porkins an appropriate name
Sony claims actor is still PlayStation BFF
Sony is suing Jerry Lambert, the actor known for playing fictional PlayStation exec Kevin Butler, for appearing in a Bridgestone Tire commercial that featured a Nintendo Wii. In the suit they claim the appearance created confusion and damage to the PlayStation brand.
Gamers quickly rallied to support Lambert by pointing out the sales figures for the PSVita.
Achievement Unlocked: 50G – At least he didn’t ask a bajillion-kajillion dollars for the PlayStation 3 at launch.
Check back each Thursday for the latest rundown. Seriously. I mean it.
Patrick Scott Patterson – who has written 91 posts on The Jace Hall Show.
Patrick Scott Patterson is a Video game personality & historian who has been gaming since 1981. He contributes two weekly columns for The Jace Hall Show: "This Week In Video Game History" and "This Week in Gaming News".

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
