On the tails of the widely popular Minecraft, Markus “Notch” Persson is hard at work on his next offering, 0x10c. The title will be similar in design as Minecraft but will be a space set sci-fi sim instead where players will control a space vessel as they explore far away planets. Today we have some new footage of the game you can check out below.
We last reported to you on this new title when Notch released some tech footage of the game through his personal Youtube account . We saw some basic mechanics and lighting and a very minor glimpse at what the game’s overall feel will be.
Today Notch released some new footage that fleshes out the world a bit more. The footage contains some art assets as well giving us a look at the universe in which 0x10c takes place.
In 0x10c players will man their own spacecraft as they travel through the stars in search of new planets and resources. Much like Minecraft the game will be somewhat resource focused as players will encounter several different disaster type scenarios that will require in game resources. Players will be landing on planets as well flying through various space debris which will all require repairs and resources.

Notch says that the game is disaster based and features a fully functioning 16 bit PCU. We assume the PCU will be used to control the various aspects of the ship as well the in game resources you have collected among other things. The game will also make use of space travel as well as engineering, trading and some mining. No word as of yet what the duct tape is for.
Check out the new 0x10c footage below complete with art assets and distant planets.

Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
