…which may be more than we thought. Forget The Phantom Menace, how many remastered versions of Episodes IV-VI has Lucas made over the past 15 years? (The total numbers of re-releases is 3, by the way, with well over a hundred changes Episode IV alone.) More than Prometheus, more than Blade Runner with the Deckard voice-over, more than the 80th re-dubbed version of Akira, the Star Wars movies and their re-edits have incensed fans to no end.
Now one man has decided to change that — by going in and fixing everything that Lucas got wrong.
YouTuber Adywan calls his project Star Wars Revisited. He’s been at it since 2004, beginning with A New Hope, and while he’s not being paid by Lucasfilm to make the re-edits and re-cuts (which explains why it’s taken 8 years), he’s using some pretty professional equipment to get the job done.
According to Kotaku, for instance, he’s improved the audio by adding in Stereo Surround Sound, editing out continuity errors — for instance, in the beginning of A New Hope, when a stormtrooper’s helmet falls off, and the next scene it’s back on; stuff like that — or the part at the end when Chewie is robbed of his medal, in the Adywan’s updated version, the wookie gets one. There’s a list of the other stuff:
- Re-edited the Imperial breaching scene, partially to remove continuity errors where troops can be seen dying more than once and to eliminate flip shots.
- Removed the full-screen pink flashes when blasters are fired.
- Restored original klaxon only heard in the original 1977 mono mix.
- Altered C-3PO’s line “They’ll be no escape for the princess this time” (not in PURIST).
- Added lasers to blasters that were fired with no bolt.
- Fixed jump cut after the droids cross the hallway in the middle of the fight.
- Sped up dead Stormtrooper’s head that hit the floor as Vader enters.
- Removed laser that came from the sight of one of the blasters.
- Added laser blasts to the hallway behind 3PO as he’s looking for R2 so that a trooper doesn’t just trip and fall.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
