We always see a lot of fake prototypes and mock-ups for yet to be released iPhones. However, not as many go all out like Ben Miller over at BenM.at. He went as far as actually building this physical prototype that was designed based on current iPhone hardware, rumors, and iPhone 5 case and part leaks.
You’re looking at a non-functioning mock up with a glass display and body that was apparently machined out of a block of aluminum, much the same as the iPad. It’s a sort of Frankenstein mix of rumors, including the rumored curved back and teardrop design, aluminum back cover, and oval shaped Home button.
The device’s teardrop design is 5.33mm at its thinnest, and 6.86mm thick towards the top. It’s also a little wider than the currently shipping iPhone 4 at 59.94 mm wide.
In other fake iPhone prototypes, the iPhone 5 video below is floating around. It’s obviously fake, but entertaining nonetheless.
