Exclusive footage of id Software’s latest FPS shooter, Rage, highlights this episode of the Jace Hall Show. What makes this game any different than Quake? Well, for starters it plays at 60 frames per second and allows you to drive like a crazy Asian–not to be confused with this game/guy…
Jace continues his conversation with Ted Price over video game censorship and ratings. Ted says the ESRB video game rating system has arguably been one of the most effective rating systems across any form of media, and he seams to have a case. You can basically stumble upon any TV show and not know its rating–same case with radio. The FCC system for rating the content of radio is extremely loose. There aren’t ratings like the ESRB system that tells you the nature of the content before you “consume” it. Instead, you’re stuck getting blind-sided by Rihanna talk S & M or Lady Gaga bluff you with her muffin. Jace plays Devil’s advocate and speak from the consumer’s point of view…still the conversation inevitably turns into gaining exclusive insights from Insomniac games.
Did you know that you have to complete this obstacle course in 10 minutes or less to become a Navy Seal? Believe it or not, The Smoking Jacket a.k.a. Tuxedo Guy didn’t tell me that, the guy on the left did.
The smoking jacket guy explains an unknown fact about the qwerty keyboard; a keyboard arrangement that was developed to prevent typists from typing too quickly and jamming keys (the original typewriter in the 1880’s used letters in alphabetical order, causing a slew of problems from A to Z)
While Smoking Jacket Guy was giving us hands-on advice about skepticism, Jace and Dave Perry of Gaikai take on the course that few have managed to conquer. Check out the episode to see how they fared on one of the world’s most challenging physical endeavors, The Navy Seal Obstacle Course.
Exclusive Video Footage of Rage, further insights into the ESRB ratings and the future of the video game industry, and Todd gets out his note-pad for his interviewer with Sandeep Parikh. It’s Episode 17, Season 4 of the Jace Hall Show. Rage is on.
