In the latest (dare we say greatest?) episode of the Jace Hall Show, Jace takes on the task of challenging Studio Creative Director Chris Gao to a “friendly game” of DC Universe Online. The outcome wasn’t so good–well for Jace, at least. It’s no secret that Jace is used to schooling noobs, but how has he fared in some of his past video game battles against “stiffer competition?” Let’s take a look at some of Jace Hall’s Top Video Game Battles.
Josh Thomson Puts Jace In Street Fighter Choke-Hold
He’s the World Lightweight Mixed Martial Arts Champion, but he certainly is no lightweight when it comes to Street Fighter. Jace found this out the hard way during their epic battle on The Jace Hall Show. Josh Thomson knocked out Jace in a 43 second, Street Fighter 4 battle. In fairness to Jace, he was playing without his signature, “Arcade-in-a-box” joystick (as the episode explains). Jace did gain enough gaming momentum to talk some smack, only to have his words silenced by the unsuspecting wrath of Josh Thomson’s sleeper hold.
Tom Green Devours Jace in Ms. Pacman (pay no attention to the dog…)
Okay, maybe this one is more of a draw, but nevertheless, Jace and Tom Green had more than enough trouble playing this arcade classic.
“You’re F—ing me up!”
“It’s a strategy.” Some might call that, “strategery”…
Jace had as much trouble as Tom trying to overcome the wrath of Ms. Pacman and crew, getting devoured in the arcade classic numerous times. What was supposed to be a friendly game of banter, and of Pacman for that matter, turned into a heated battle. But if anybody can keep their cool under pressure, it’s Tom Green. This episode shows why he’s still one of the funnier guys around, even if his arcade skills are a bit lacking.
Jace Takes on Cliffy in KABOOM!
Speaking of another arcade classic (uh, noticing a trend?) Jace shows that every successful gamer, from Gears of War to Gravitar, must posses the proper “fundamentals.”Jace gives Cliffy a lesson in KABOOM! “I actually got this game for my first communion when I was eight years old,” says a cautious Cliffy. Didn’t we all…
Jace shows off his KABOOM! skills; his score even touches the rarefied air of 3,000, qualifying him for an Activision Bucket Brigade Badge. If he would have put in another 2 and a half hours or so, he might have reached the highest possible score of 999,999. But that’s another battle for another day…
Jace Gets His MMA Redemption
After one MMA fighter puts him in a sleeper-hold, Jace rebounds nicely and focuses on taking down another, this time in Red Dead Redemption. Season 4, Episode 3 (the episode where he also takes out Felicia Day in a battle of its own) puts Cung Le in the ring, well the Red Dead Redemption Ring, where Jace tries to show him, amongst other things, how to mount a horse. Cung only wishes that he had brought a copy of his latest game, EA Sports MMA Fighter, but he does get the best of Todd in a later episode.
Seth Macfarlane Pulls Wii “180″
After all but forfeiting his future matches with Jace moments before, Seth Macfarlane rebounds nicely and beats Jace in a battle of Wii Tennis. An assist has to go to Actress Laura Vandervoort, who not only distracts Jace from his latter match with Seth, but also makes a serious pitch to star on one of Seth’s shows.
Feel free to make any additions or scoring decisions that are different than any of the above. Until, let the battles continue on.
