Nobody really cares about Pac Man anymore. He doesn’t pack a Portal Gun or Dragon Sword, hunt down Arkham’s escaped inmates, or raid any tombs, or even just shoot anything really. He’s just round and yellow and his personality kind of sucks. And despite all the cartoons, cereals, and different random pop culture incarnationsthat arose far after his heyday, he’s sort of faded.
But the trouble that a group of friends went to for Pac Man The Musical: A Pacapella Song will hopefully reinvigorate your love of the little yellow guy. The group, Random Encounters is back, and making Pac Man into something special again.
The video lends a ton of personality to the four ghosts, whom in this video, hover somewhere between cutesy and possibly cannibalistic (a broad dichotomy to say the least). And despite shooting it in their own kitchen, the animation is pretty damn good (doesn’t look like they used anything more than just children’s clay from an art store) and the lyrics are at least better than the Mario Rock Opera.
The video is much different than Singachu, their previous video, but Random Encounters, who we interviewed exclusively not too long ago on their Zelda musical, always keeps audiences unsure of what to expect next.
