It starts with an innocent stroll to go fetch some lemonade, and if the past two episodes of The Jace Hall Show have shown us anything, it ends with epic exclusives. The season 4 finale of the Jace Hall Show gave viewers some of the most incredible, never-before-seen, exclusive footage of Duke Nukem Forever. Duke drinks beer, takes steroids, and does other things that make Fox News go crazy. The game’s release was recently pushed back, but the latest episode of the Jace Hall Show only increases the anticipation of the return of the King.
Randy Pitchfork (uh…Pitchford) gives Jace the inside scoop on the nearly complete game. Last week, Randy and Jace talked about how Gearbox Software even became involved in the Duke Nukem Franchise.
““In some ways, I feel like I owe Duke my career…”
For those of you unaware of the upcoming release of Duke Nukem Forever (I’m sure there’s somebody out there…maybe) here’s a brief run-down. Duke Nukem Forever is the latest title in the 20 year old franchise. Duke Nukem Forever has been in the works for over a decade, going back and forth between publishers and developers, until its rights were acquired by Gearbox Software last year.
The premise of Duke Nukem Forever:
Alien invaders are stealing Earth’s women, especially the hot ones! And they drank Duke’s beer. Time to bring the pain.
Simple enough. The game has long created controversy, and the fact that it took time off, didn’t defuse any criticism over the “sexists sterotypes” that characterizes much of the video game. Fox News recently went after the “Capture The Babe” mode, which embodies the pageantry of capture the flag, all while combining the act of slapping girls on the behind. Duke Nukem Forever might be the most anticipated game of the decade; with the drama of delays and rumors swirling about what it contains, it certainly has an unmistakable nostalgia that only Duke could deliver.
