Will ‘Expendables 2′ Be PG-13 Because of Chuck Norris’ Demands?

In an interview with Chuck Norris over at Arrow in the Head, the 71 year old star of Delta Force 2 and uber right-wing neocon, revealed that he was basically the next best thing to the action film Antichrist. Specifically:

“In Expendables 2, there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this. But I don’t play in movies like this. Due to that I said I won’t be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13.”

Got that, guys? Not only is Chuck Norris going to be responsible for turning an R rated script into a pussified PG-13 action film, he’s proudly owning up to it. But what about the assault rifles and shotguns, you might ask? Only if you pry them these.

Should this prove true (no word of confirmation from Stallone or the studio behind EX2), would fans avoid it at all costs? Or give it a shot regardless, given the fact Chuck Norris is involved?

There seems to be this ongoing myth in Hollywood that to have a #1 box-office hit — especially in the throes of summer box-office heat — an action adventure pic that’s rated ‘R’ is all but doomed.

Young punks, the under 18 crowd specifically, will have a hard time getting in, and that’s a huge box office take. However, the original Expendables, starring dinosaurs like Stallone and Dolph Lundgren, and many other stars past their prime, managed to gross over $100 mil with their film holding a hard ‘R’ rating.
