Chuck Norris recently came out and claimed that he was the main reason behind The Expendables 2being handed a PG-13 rating.
Fanboys erupted in rage when, on Ain’t it Cool News, Stallone confirmed the rumors:
Harry, the film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance…our final battle is one for the ages. The PG13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbecue of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry…Sly
Yes, Norris is a born-again Christian, and yes, he claims his faith played a strong role in all of it, but this didn’t seem to stop people from automatically being up in arms about it, and the situation wasn’t helped by the fact that no one else involved in the project was coming forward to confirm or deny it.
Thus there was a great deal of head-scratching on the part of many who believed even someone like Chuck Norris could never hold that much power over a film. …and caused these reactions from our Facebook page:
Betty white’s more bad ass than Norris…..
They could have easily changed his mind by getting Jet Li to kick his ass -_-
Chuck Norris can eat a tyranasaurus ██████ ███████that ██████ in his ████ Walker Texas Ranger██ ████
With all that being said, the “barbecue of grand scale ass-bashing” statement from Stallone is promising. Yet 10 of the all time greatest action heroes (has beens or not) pulverizing baddies with lead and profanity, are somewhat limited by such a rating.
That it will be reduced to, as fanboy Jaguart pointed out, “Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing with a Whiffle Bat.” There’s a bit of hope in word of Van Damme’s “inspired performance”, especially after his strange-yet-heartfelt turn in JCVD. That and it is being directed by Simon West, the same guy who gave us Con Air.
