As you can see from video above, the concept takes a typical looking Android smartphone and allows it to dock into and power various accessories. For instance, connecting the smartphone to a specially made notebook peripheral allows you to run Android on the larger screen with a hardware keyboard. A similar tablet accessory connects to the smartphone and allows you to do the same on a 10.1-inch touchscreen slate. There is also a PSP/Vita knock off looking peripheral that provides a hardware d-pad.
The phone itself packs in some pretty impressive specs with a 1280×800 4.5-inch display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor. The accessories have batteries which will apparently power the phone when it’s connected, but otherwise they’ll rely on the phone’s CPU, memory, etc.
The device is expected to launch in Korea sometime in November or December, but pricing and availability abroad is still unknown.

In a bizarre series of stories over the last couple days, a prototype next-gen iPhone was reportedly lost in a San Francisco bar only to be allegedly tracked to a Bernal Heights man’s home by Apple employees assisted by SFPD officers. A thorough search of the man’s home turned up nothing. That report was then shot down by SFPD only to just moments ago to be confirmed Keep Reading

GameStop not too long ago began accepting iPhones, iPads, and iPods as trade-ins in exchange for store credit. However, our friends over at 9to5Mac have learned that dealers at a Las Vegas trade show were told that the company will soon begin carrying and selling the devices new as well. The announcement to dealers could possibly signal preparation for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 5 (iPhone 4S?). Keep Reading

We are so close. SO CLOSE to true robotic limbs.

CEO’s get a lot of grief in this day in age, some rightfully so, for not being able to work well under fire…or for being greedy moneyhounds that will do anything for a buck.
In the case of the latter, there’s always the SEC or documentary filmmaker that keeps them honest. In the case of the former Keep Reading

We’ve heard rumors of the Amazon Kindle Tablet (potential iPad-killer?) for a while now and even had word from Amazon itself that something is in the works. However, today TechCrunch has posted a story detailing some pretty specific details of the tablet, even filling us in on a $250 price point and release date sometime this year.
Apparently a 7-inch version of the tablet will ship first and run an Amazon-customized version of Android, single-core processor, and 6GB of internal storage. Surprisingly, the device will ship without cameras and any physical buttons. Not sure how much of an iPad-killer that makes it… Keep Reading

Sure, jailbreaking your iDevice of choice provides you access to a ton of utilities and tweaks not available in the App Store, we rarely however find a game in the Cydia store worth mentioning. The good news? Developer ‘ntrfc0′ is apparently working on a Zelda-inspired action/RPG game specifically for jailbroken iPhones, and he needs your help! Keep Reading

For those of you deeply entrenched in the world of comics, you may be fully aware of Axe Cop, the comic series “written by a 6 year old and drawn by his 30 year old brother.”
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Axe Cop and think it must be a police cyborg who patrols the streets of an Orwellian universe in the future (you’re getting warmer) allow this to be a brief introduction into one of the most unique comics in the industry.
Axe Cop arose when graphic novelist Ethan Nicolle was playing pretend with his (at the time) five year old brother Malachai Nicolle, back in 2009. Ethan was already well know for Keep Reading

There’s only one word that can describe this: “Bwuh?”
We told you the other day that Apple’s gone and lost another iPhone prototype, and in the report from CNET the story of a police investigation into a potential suspect’s home was raised.
There’s one problem: The San Francisco Police Department stated today it’s opened no investigations into any missing iPhone prototypes. Which leaves one burning question: Who entered Sergio Calderón’s home and searched for the iPhone? Keep Reading

It’s no secret that leaked case designs for upcoming Apple mobile devices have often lead to discoveries about design changes for upcoming future products.
Whether its the dimensions of the case, or repositioned openings for volume rockers and other hardware elements, it’s been proven that case manufacturers have been able to get their hands on the specs for upcoming devices before most others.
The latest set of images (courtesy of Italian Mac site Macitynet.it) shows what the next-gen iPhone may look like based on a comparison of a rumoured iPhone 5 case and a current iPhone 4.
As you can from the images, the design appears to be quite a departure from the currently shipping iDevices… returning to familiar curved back (much like the 3G), and widening the dimensions to make room for what we hope is a 4+ inch display. More images after the break and much more at the source.

Toshiba has taken the wraps off what could quite possibly be the thinnest tablet yet with their 7.7mm thick AT200 ‘Excite’ weighing in at just 558 grams (that’s more than 1mm thinner than iPad 2 and Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1). Unfortunately the image above doesn’t do it justice Keep Reading

Perhaps one of the most interesting new products to be unveiled at this year’s IFA, currently taking place in Berlin, Germany, is Samsung’s new Galaxy Note 5.3 tablet/smartphone hybrid and Galaxy Tab 7.7.
While we’re not sure whether Samsung is referring to their new Galaxy Note device as a smartphone or a tablet, it packs in a phone and comes with an interesting 5.3-inch display, unlike any other currently on the market. Early reviews of the 1280×800 SuperAMOLED display have been amazing, but we’re not too sure how comfortable it will be in your pocket (if it even fits). The Note comes with a Samsung-built 1.4GHz single core processor, and runs Gingerbread with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI on top.
The newly announced Galaxy Tab 7.7, on the other hand, runs Android Honeycomb 3.2 (which recently received some upgrades for smaller screened tablets), and of course sports a 7.7-inch display with an incredibly thin 7.89mm profile. It also mirrors many of the Note’s specs but bumps up to a dual core processor Keep Reading

The image on the right is a mock up of what the iPhone 5 could possibly look like based on an icon discovered by our friends over at 9to5Mac in the latest Photo Stream beta.
The icon strangely doesn’t resemble a current Apple product that we know of, leading many to believe Apple has changed the icon for iOS 5 elements in order to closer resemble the next-gen iPhone. Notice the elongated yet shorter Home button, and the dimensions of the casing surrounding the display. Keep Reading
