If you haven’t gotten the chance to explore Apple’s new iTunes Match service in one of the betas leading up to today’s launch, this might very well be your first glimpse into how we will all be storing and accessing our music a year from now.
For those of you that are unfamiliar, iTunes Match kind of stands alone from the iTunes in the Cloud feature of iCloud. That service allows you to download your purchased iTunes music to any one of your devices through the cloud for free with an iCloud account.
iTunes Match, on the other hand, is a $25/per year service Keep Reading
No…you have not been Rick Roll’d (at least we don’t think). Meet The Rubberbandits new song. It’s part MC FRONTALOT, part Weird Al, part…Ace of Base? Whatever their music adds up to it’s clear that they’re missing one ingredient. A black man.
“I need a black man in my gang/a black man doing black man thang/I need a black man in my crew…could it be you?
“
There you go…
Black Man is the first single from the Rubberbandits double album “Serious about Men” which is available December 2nd via itunes and The Rubber Bandits website.
After watching the video for all of ten seconds Keep Reading
Is there any Zelda game more beloved than Ocarina of Time, especially when you consider the music?
How about to a remix that’s so debilitatingly infectious it will probably never leave your head? We’re only too happy to give you another virus, this time in the form of the “Daimyo Remix” of Saria’s Song from OOT — something we stumbled upon thanks to a Link-loyal fan.
Complete with a catchy drum loop and plenty of voice/sound samples from the game, this re-mix might just remind you how annoying and kinda girly his voice really is.

You may remember Gary Graham from his frequent appearances on the Jace Hall Show, beginning as the Smoking Jacket Guy and evolving into the more formal role as the Tuxedo Guy.
In addition to playing a character with excellent timing, with a knack for knowing everything there is to know about everything, Graham is also a passionate musician who just released his first EP dedicated to the Soldiers, Veterans, and hard working Americans helping to solidify the American way of life. We’re kinda surprised no one ever thought to put a montage of Episode IV: A New Hope‘s coolest scenes to an AC/DC song, seeing as how most of the Aussie rockers’ songs are about shooting, or thrilling, or both — and man, remember how Lucas used to do that??
Props to Kalleanka on Youtube for putting together this clever little sequence of events which sum up the first Star Wars movie to AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’, especially since it could have been something really lame like a montage of Darth Vader scenes to “Back in Black.”
If this inspires you to check out more videos, you can head over to GalacticBinder.com — that’s where this baby came from in the first place, in the ‘make your own Star Wars video‘ contest. Keep Reading

It’s reminscent to Michael Winslow’s tribute to whole lotta love, except this video is a whole lotta Skrillex and a lot less Led Zepplin.
This street performer in Milan offers a fair warning to anyone within hearing distance: “If you have never heard of Dubstep…do not leave now.”
In other words, ‘leave at your own risk because I’m about to blow your mind.’ Keep Reading
We suppose it was only a matter of time, really…but here it is, courtesy of Elder Scrolls enthusiast Dan Bull, who took the main themes of everyone’s favorite dragon-slaying RPG and made it into a pretty cool rap.
With a British accent that could rival Michael Caine’s, Bull highlights all the things that make Skyrim such a beloved part of the series (though the graphics and cinema sequences could be reason enough):
“I don’t just spit flames lyrically Keep Reading

And you thought Metallica had suffered a pretty heavy backlash for the whole Load/Napster debacle well over a decade ago. If you haven’t read about Lulu, the new collaboration between the former Velvet Underground lead singer and Lars, James, Kirk, and that other guy, quite honestly, you haven’t seen sh*t yet.
Lulu, the uneasily-anticipated, WTF-collaboration between two of music’s most beloved and reviled artists was released over two weeks ago – and the reviews are pouring in.
For the most part, you’d be hard-pressed to find more venomous, hate-filled, vengeful adjectives hurled toward any beloved musician — more than when Paul Simon did that Capeman musical or even Paul McCartney when he mentioned a Wings reunion tour. Keep Reading

Damn if this didn’t make my rather crappy day and make it chock full of tri-force goodness.
These guys have churned out one hell of a little music/theme video, starring everyone’s favorite video game elf, complete with back up dancers wearing gas masks.
Why? I don’t know, but it looks cool. Keep Reading
For those of you under the impression that the Insane Clown Posse had gone off to greener pastures — maybe that meant just retiring and laughing all the way to the bank, maybe mellowing out and doing acoustic jams with Gavin Rossdale, maybe just waiting for Darwinism to do its magic — you can rest easy now in knowing things are about to get much, much worse.
That includes a possible re-vitalization of the band and ensuing double-live album, all to celebrate the FBI report that now classifies juggalos as an official ‘gang.’
I guess ever since the ICP’s fanatical followers threw feces at Tila Tequila and began attacking people in traffic accidents, it warranted Keep Reading

On The Craig Ferguson Show Halloween night, a new musical husband/wife duo made their debut — comprised of both the (arguably) greatest living sci-fi author, and his wife, Amanda Palmer, of The Dresden Dolls. Seems that since getting married a little less than a year ago, the two have wasted almost no time in forming a band (of sorts) and performing live.
Even though this is simply a schlocky cover (“Light Night Double Feature”, from The Rocky Horror Picture Show), it’s hopefully enough to make you forget all about Sonny and Cher. Keep Reading
Laura Shigihara, longtime amateur video game music composer and mastermind behind the Plants vs. Zombies theme song — an infectious little anthem if ever there was one — has returned with a hip-hop style ode to what some might call the most beloved role playing game of all time.
The Funktrollers’ “Tapped Out,” despite it being adorable in that Laura Shigihara-way, didn’t do much for me. I know she’s every nerdy white guy’s dreamgirl, and I’m just as guilty…but the video really nerds George Fan, Derek Yu, and honkey Paul Hubens to get the laughs in this one. Keep Reading

Yea so we’ve developed a bit of a theme with our Viral Videos of late, but this one is too good to miss. It features a kid all of 15 years old, shredding it on the guitar…oh, and he’s completely blind.
He originally was a dedicated gamer until he lost his sight, that’s when he started playing the piano, the drums, then working his way towards playing the guitar. He officially began at the age of 9, and 6 years later, is probably one of the more advanced guitarists for anyone in his age group, let alone someone that’s blind Keep Reading
In the “I could watch/listen to this 1000 times and not get bored” category, this video shows one amazing and talented musician’s ability to riff “on the guitar”, using an electric piano. He says the piece took him about 4 hours to put together and is mostly improv.
The only thing that might be more interesting than his music is his voice, his speaking voice that is. Assuming that he’s not playing some type of rockabilly character at the end of the video, the guy seems to be an interesting cat to say the least. I’m quietly dissapointed that he didn’t lay down any vocals to go with the guitar/piano track.
Nevertheless, the video shows off some impressive riffs, and is a great jam for any guitarists or aspiring musicians out there to fall into.

DJ Premier teams with the Berklee School of Music Orchestra to remix a new Nas track. Mark Ronson hooks up with Erykah Badu to write a new jazz number. Legendary Motown singer Martha Reeves and The Crystal Method get together to record a new R&B piece.
Either cats and dogs are about to start mating, or something pretty damn unique is happening under the surprisingly hip eyes of the execs at Hyundai.
It was their idea to team up with the folks behind The Grammys and put together some of the industry’s newest rising stars with the most respectable veterans of the music business Keep Reading

Dubbing themselves “an 8-bit Science Fiction Hip-Hop Band” from Seattle, Supercommuter is yet another in the plethora of groups now flying their flag in the name of all things nerdcore.
Taking cues more from the likes of Mega Ran and Beck’s Game Boy Variations EP, Supercommuter prides itself on building its compositions entirely out of 8-bit sounds from the old-school hand held GB console and the original 1985 NES.
The name isn’t just a throwaway, Supercommuter also boasts that: Keep Reading

We know this is our 10000th article on the singer, but let’s face it — in what’s been a slow music news week, Rihanna’s the gift that keeps on giving. This past weekend was no exception, as the singer spent a good chunk o’ Euros in the local Parisian sex shoppe, aka Lovestore, during some touring downtime.
I know what you’re thinking…what did she spend her money on, exactly? We’re so glad you asked. According to The Huffington Post, Handcuffs,’Toys’ (the exact specifics aren’t quite all known, but let that imagination run wild), DVDs, some book by Ellen Von Unwerth, lingerie, and Keep Reading

Bobby Brown recently announced plans to return to television, this time with ex-bandmates New Edition, with whom he helped sire a whole new brand of ‘boy band’ rock. Which pretty much became a joke after New Edition went away.
“We have a conference call every Sunday,” said Bobby Brown of the new reunion. “We’re putting the band back together. I think the thing that was missing with us was prayer. Being able to pray together and understand our differences. I think that’s what made us fight so much.” Keep Reading
There’s a lot to like about MC Frontalot’s video for ‘Critical Hit’, the first single from his new album, Solved — part of which might be how reminiscent it is to an old Freaks and Geeks episode.
Complete with shag carpeting, 70s wood paneled basement walls, and a gaggle of geeks, MC Frontalot’s video for “Critical Hit” is pure projection — not that there’s anything wrong with that. Yeah, there’s probably something more significant behind it all, but it’s easy to get lost in the freakshow fantasy that Frontalot imagines his life to be.
Part Ziggy Stardust, part Leisure Suit Larry, all Frontalot, the video features Brian Poesehn, lord of the Dungeon Masters, tons of hot role-playing action, and some moments that all of us can relate to (on some level). Keep Reading

Half video game, half Paganini concerto, Eric Speed’s video/cover of Flashdance’s “Maniac” is a hybrid between a side-scrolling, Street Fighter-style coin-op and Scott Pilgrim vs. The World with an 80′s twist.
With his electric violin plugged in (via audio remote), Speed’s tribute to the irreverent 1983 hit Flashdance and “Maniac” is also the tale of him being whisked away by sidekick/girlfriend Emmanuelle Le Phan, who plays the Jennifer Beals role (if Jennifer Beals was more into Irish jigs and kickboxing). Together they fight against the usual suspects — evil b-boys, jealous exes, and people who might just hate him for covering the song to Flashdance. Keep Reading
