According to Nerdcore pioneer MC Frontalot, there’s little chance of escaping Armageddon that is the zombie apocalypse — and “Invasion of the Not Quite Dead” is probably the closest we have to a self-help video detailing how to deal with it. No, you don’t have to be dead to get something out of it.
Directed by AD Lane, the video pretty much sums up what Frontalot’s best at: making entertainment on a shoestring budget all while delivering lyrical quality that would much (maybe blow away) many of today’s mainstream hip hop artists.
Compiling some of the best footage of his recent tour, Frontalot’s duet with Wheatus is, from the opening line, “Invasion of the Not Quite Dead”, full of helpful lyrics best summarizing how we’re pretty much all completely screwed — not only in the afterlife, but death as well: “Mortality/It’s inescapable./Want to get out of it/ Nobody’s capable.”
If you’ve never seen an MC Frontalot video, consider this a formal indoctrination – though the bears on jet packs of “Spoiler Alert” rank a close second.
Featuring some extra nifty pics of rabid zombies gnawing at their decayed fingers, “Invasion” was released pretty under the radar last week, a perfect combination of all things horror and horn-rimmed. It’s the promotional video to the movie of the same title, which is 100% fan funded and goes into production this January.
