The Garnet Red super slim PS3 was previously announced for both Japan and Europe. Today Sony has announced the red 500Gb PS3 will be part of a new God of War: Ascension bundle.
The bundle will also come with the God of War Saga which includes every other game in the series as well as a 30 day Playstation Plus membership.
The limited edition God of War: Ascension Legacy Bundle will hit stores on March 12, along with GOWA for $349.
We also have a new video from Ascension that features the development team at Sony Santa Monica creating the mythological beast Manticore. Check out the making of video footage below explaining the design of the character.

“You will encounter epic, unfathomable, mythical beasts in the God of War: Ascension single-player campaign. Here’s a deeper look at the Manticore. What you’re about to see is the inception of an idea, all the way through to the final, epic God of War: Ascension game.” – Playstation
The Manticore is a Persian mythological beast made up of the body of a lion, the head of a human and the teeth of a shark.
The GOWA team put there own spin on the beast, as you can see in the video below, adding a scorpion tail, bat-like wings, human arms and the ability to breathe fire as well. Senior Combat designer Tony Huynh says in the video that the team hasn’t “had a character this large before, in the air.”
God of War: Ascension hits stores on March 12 for PlayStation 3.

Logan Huffman wants to know who is posting comments about him online and asks Jace for help. Meanwhile Joe Flanigan is caught again flirting in the V costume. Jace heads to the set of Law and Order: SVU to catch up with Ice – T and Coco and the Starcraft II team gets “rushed” by World of Warcraft Lead Designer, Jeff Kaplan.
Jace has decided to take advantage of his co-hosting duties at the Sony Online Entertainment Fan Faire celebration, by showing his new music video to the thousands of EverQuest players in attendance, much to the dismay of the crowd. That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
