In case you opted for fruit instead of electronics in your blender this morning, the fine folks over at Blendtec have plugged their blender by comparing the durability of the new iPhone 5 with the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Spoiler: both get utterly destroyed, but the iPhone goes down considerably sooner than the S3.
Unless you’re a tremendous klutz, determining which phone blends might not affect your decision to splurge for over the other, however the durability of the Samsung Galaxy S3 should be noted. The phone lasts almost a half a minute longer than the iPhone before it inevitably turns to dust. For those of you wondering, the Blendtec blender being used retails for $500 so don’t be surprised it’s able to blend anything into dust.
While the retina screen on the iPhone 5 may look gorgeous, it’s not nearly as durable as the exterior on the S3, and while that might be moot when it comes to blending, that toughness should carry over during more practical accidents, like dropping or getting run over by a car.

That didn’t stop one enthusiastic guest from doing something radical.
