Dead Space 3 executive producer Steve Papoutsis revealed four new optional game modes coming to the third person action-horror title. The new game modes unlock once you have beaten the game once (via Eurogamer). Check out some new DS3 gameplay footage in the video below.
Dead Space 3 is set primarily on the frozen planet Tau Volantis and follows the story of Isaac Clarke and John Carver as they fight of the Necromorphs.

“Be curious. Read wisely. Try new things. I think a lot of what people call intelligence just boils down to curiosity.” - Aaron Swartz
If you haven’t been avoiding any and all news outlets for the past 3 days, you’ve heard that the man best known for co-creating Reddit and inventing the pioneering RSS program has died. He also was one of the pioneers that went AGAINST the controversial SOPA and PIPA acts.
In the two days since his passing, there’s been an outpouring of grief and support for his family and friends. There’s also been anger and outrage on behalf of many who believe an overzealous American legal system is somewhat responsible. There are so many major titles on the way in the next month or so that games like Bioshock: Infinite and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance are holding back some of there pre-release material through the holiday season. Konami decided to give us just a little today when we get word about some Revengeance special editions out of Japan.
After being overshadowed somewhat in the last little while because of the announcement of Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, we finally get some more MGR. The Japanese special editions are PS3 only, hopefully we will see something for Xbox 360 users later on.

Ever wanted to start your own video game company? Given the events surrounding 38 Studios, the video game company founded by ex-Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling, there are some interesting events to point out.
According to Boston.com, 38 sent the following email to each of its 300 employees this week:
“The company is experiencing an economic downturn. To avoid further losses … the company has decided that a companywide layoff is absolutely necessary.’
Not since Arnold teamed up with Leland Yee has a governor been so active in the world of video games, given the huge role that Rhode Island governor Lincoln Chafee is playing in this unfortunate mess. Continue reading “Is Ex-Red Sox Pitcher Curt Schilling’s 38 Studios Dead?” »

If you take only 2 things away from this post, just know that A) this could be the coolest promotion in the history of television show promotions and that B) All the Hollywood advertising firms should step it up a notch, because the brains behind season 2 of The Walking Dead are showing the brains lacking in their competitors (maybe they got eaten).

When we hear a story of gamers being injured or even passing away while playing games, we’re always skeptical that gaming itself contributed and it wasn’t just the person’s poor judgement or pre-existing medical condition. Today isn’t the first time that we’ve heard of a man dying in a packed Asian internet/gaming cafe while on an extended MMO session, but this time it took nine hours before anyone even noticed…
The original report comes from Sky News (via The Escapist):
The body of Chen Rong-yu, 23, was found slumped in a chair at a cafe in New Taipei city on Tuesday night, according to local reports. He was rigid Continue reading “Taipei Man Dies Playing League of Legends, No One Notices” »

So the official synopsis for the new Evil Dead movie is out, and surprise, it has all the makings of being absolutely terrible.
After being stuck in development hell for years, even the most lax Evil Dead fans could bask in the news that the original Dead series could never be re-created. Alas, enter Diablo Cody (Juno/Jennifer’s Body), who’s resurrected the project. This time, it brings certain female characters front and center — only in a fashion that makes close to zero sense:
According to the official synopsis at Bloody Disgusting: Continue reading “The ‘Evil Dead’ Reboot: The Demons Are Drugs?” »

Netflix continues to make a splash in the news, this time for the better, with the announcement that they’ll be expanding their content library with titles from the AMC Network library.
What might be the biggest coup for Netflix out of the deal is that The Walking Dead will be exclusive to Netflix in the U.S. and Canada, heading towards the shows debut on October 12th.
The Walking Dead debuted its webseries online yesterday Continue reading “NETFLIX Looks to “Zombies” to Rebound, Regain Subscribers” »
