Despite being more a tech demo than a full-fledged game at this point, the ability to play it through any browser, including iOS and Android devices, definitely makes it worth checking out.

Mozilla is using the game to demonstrate its WebSockets technology, allowing  Continue reading “BrowserQuest: An NES-Style RPG Meets MMO In ANY Browser” »

windows apple fake logoHave you ever wanted to see what the Windows Phone experience was all about without having to commit to a handset? Thankfully, Microsoft feels your pain and has now opened up a functioning HTML5 demo of the Windows Phone 7 (Mango) OS that runs on Android and iPhone browsers…

No downloads or installations required, all you have to do is swing by http://aka.ms/wpdemo in your browser of choice. You’ll be presented with an almost fully functioning demo of the OS’s main features.

Unfortunately there are some limitations– you wont get to try out any voice recognition capabilities, and most features Continue reading “Microsoft Lets You Try Out ‘Windows Phone’ On Your iPhone or Android” »

Logo for facebookFacebook’s presence in the gaming industry is, at the very least, highlighted by Farmville and a handful of other semi-successful titles. But if you ask Facebook’s European head of Gaming Partnerships, Julien Cordorniou, the platform will also be “the future for the gaming industry” in its entirety.

According to PocketGamer.biz, Cordorniou recently took the stage at the Social Gaming Summit in London to talk about Facebook’s future in mobile gaming. Perhaps his most intriguing comment was the fact he thought every “game that exists on PC, consoles, should come on the Facebook platform at some point”.

The report continues Continue reading “Not So Fast Farmville Clones, FACEBOOK Thinks They Could Be The Future of Gaming” »

Apple killed flash photoWell, according to Adobe at least, Apple is the one to blame for the recent death of Flash. Adobe recently made the passing of flash official, all while touting HTML5 as the way of the future. This all comes as quite a surprise for anyone familiar with Adobe’s persistence in keeping the platform alive despite Apple’s unwillingness to include it in their iOS platforms.

Steve Jobs made Apple’s stance on not including Flash in iOS devices like the iPad and iPhone clear in an open letter entitled “Thoughts on Flash”. He also stated in the past that Adobe Continue reading “Flash is Dead, and It’s Apple’s Fault” »

Perhaps the one feature noticeably still missing from iOS devices is Flash support, which is why we’re happy to report Adobe has finally stepped up to the plate with Flash Media Server 4.5. Don’t be fooled, however, this doesn’t mean iPhone and iPad are getting native Flash support. Don’t expect to be playing your favorite flash games anytime soon… Continue reading “Adobe brings flash support to iPhone and iPad, kind of…” »
