Yesterday we reported to you on Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter appearing in the latest sci-fi shooter from 343 and today we get news that Microsoft will be paying users to play Halo 4 multiplayer (via IGN). The program will run throughout the month of November.
Microsoft has announced a new program where it will be awarding free Microsoft points to those that play a lot of Halo 4 multiplayer.
The program is called the Halo 4 Combat Tour Offer and it will see over 10,000,000 free Microsoft Points awarded to players depending on the amount of hours they’ve spent playing online.

Microsoft has brought out the brand new Xbox Music service through its Windows 8 Music app. The company also rolled out a beta of its Xbox dashboard update to test out the service’s console interface.
Although not all the details on the service have come out yet, we do have some idea of the pricing and structure. Xbox Music, according to The Verge, will offer an unlimited streaming package for £8.99 per month.
This price is the same as what the British Zune Pass is at £89.90 per year. Most signs point to the US pricing structure to be the same as the UK in that it will be the same as a Zune Pass.

It wont be long before Apple steps up to the plate with native iOS apps on your flatscreen, most likely through a future iteration of Apple TV. That’s why it’s no surprise other TV manufacturers including Sharp, Philips, and LG are planning on teaming up to offer devs the ability to develop standardized apps for their budding smart TV platforms.
The three vendors have teamed up specifically to combat fears of fragmentation and offer developers a “write once, run everywhere” development platform to bring apps into the living room. A forthcoming SDK will be based on HTML5 (as well as CE-HTML and HbbTV) and is expected to become available sometime in October.
