Gearbox and 2K have announced both some pre-order bonuses and 2 different collectors editions for Borderlands 2. 2K will offer the game in three different versions: Standard, Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Collector’s Edition, or the Ultimate Loot Chest Limited Edition.
All three will offer full access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, which will allow players to download the “Gearbox Gun Pack, a Golden Key, the Vault Hunter’s Relic, and an all-new fifth character class – the Mechromancer.”

Perhaps you’ve had an experience similar to the one this man has. If not with Diablo 3, then with Skyrim, Call of Duty or maybe even something a little less seemingly ‘diabolical’ like, uh, Minecraft…
The point is that a good video game is not unlike a really hot chick: a feast for the eyes, somewhat diabolical in its appearance; full of addicting little ‘buttons’ to push, adventures to take on, and of course rewarding reciprocation. It wasn’t enough that nerdcore sensation Richie Branson spearheaded an underground campaign to revive Toonami. Other fans did it their own way: the usual posts on Adult Swim messageboards/forums; maybe tweeting with AS-oriented hashtags, endless letters of complaint…pretty much everything short of picketing with signs outside Cartoon Network Headquarters.
But by releasing several odes to various anime franchises, especially Mobile Suit Gundam, Branson’s attracted the attention of Japanimation fans worldwide. In the two weeks since Beastie Boy Adam Yauch has died, the tributes have continued to pour in — but mostly at the hands of The Beasties’ music industry peers like Coldplay, Eminem, and Ad-Rock — along with the strictly fan-made youtube compilation tributes.

Ever since Capcom began shelling out DLC with many of its new releases, games like Street Fighter X and Dragon’s Dogma have been inciting a string of steady complaints from fans who feel they’re getting gypped.
In light of these recent events, Capcom senior vice-president Christian Svensson issued the following press release, according to DigitalTrends:

There have been rumors of a Sons of Anarchy game in the works for quite some time now. SOA is a gritty biker gang drama on the FX Network that has received critical acclaim over the last few years.
The show’s creator, Kurt Sutter, has been Tweeting as of late that the game is not only in the works but is now in serious discussions with major publishers to create a AAA console title based on the show (via GT).

But never have we featured a female who not only possessed some serious gaming skills, but was a scientist with a Ph.D. in clinical psychology who specializes in phobias, trauma, and other anxiety-related illnesses.

After the initial reveal and a few short interviews here and there, Naughty Dog has been pretty quiet about The Last Of Us. The studio’s first PS3 title outside of the Uncharted series is a survival game set in a post apocalyptic world. Months ago now we were all introduced to the game’s main protagonists, Joel and Ellie, but we haven’t heard much since.
Today we get a look at some new footage from the game courtesy of a new cut scene (via IGN), as well as a more in depth interview with the dev team on some of the changes the game has undergone since we last saw it. (more…)

In what may be the most competitive industry not named competitive eating, the pizza industry has made no bones about one upping the competition, sometimes with fresher ingredients but most of the time with more hot dog and/or different types of cheeses.
But enter what may be the grandaddy of them all…and yes we do mean all: The Fuck You Pizza from “Pizza Hut.” Coming in at almost 14,000 calories, the fuck you pizza is big enough to sink a small submarine, yet not too filling for the man who hasn’t eaten in a week or a kodiak bear preparing for hibernation.

A few of you have been writing letters to Jace as of late, looking for advice and encouragement in dark times — especially when your creative spirits are down. Being downtrodden in such bleak economic times is understandable, but damn if this latest speech by Rory Sutherland (a legendary ad man who’s helped revolutionize the industry in his home country of Britain) at the TED conference in Athens doesn’t offer some solid hope.
Sutherland’s speech revolves largely around the benefits of creativity and having a healthy perspective in the chaos of everyday life.
One of the best things about his speech is how he sort of helps outline the key points with handy visual highlights. For instance, Sutherland says, we too often forget:
Things are not what they are; they are what we think they are.

When you think of all the hardcore religions that have inspired such acts of sacrifice mindfulness and passive resistance, it’s Buddhism. You think Buddhism, you think the Dalai Lama, the monks who protested Vietnam by setting themselves on fire… general acts of sacrifice that most other religions can’t hold a candle to.
You can let that imagery rest a little easier: According to The International Business Times, several South Korean Buddhist monks were caught on tape — indulging in drinking, high stakes gambling, and even sexual debauchery with hookers. While it may seem like MC Chris and MC Frontalot are the center of the nerdcore universe, 1-Up is an artist who, while maybe not packing the production value that comes with those guys, still manages to make pretty entertaining songs/videos. Upon first seeing that it was ‘Gangster’s Paradise‘ he’s parodying, it may prompt a quick running to the hills (how can anyone possibly hold a candle to Weird Al’s version?!).
But 1-Up presents himself as one of the most authentic nerdcore artists, especially in this unabashed salute to comics, games, and Nintendo.
